FTC Red Flags identity theft protection rules delayed to June 1st, 2010

In the fourth such extension, the FTC has delayed its enforcement of the identity theft related Red Flags Rule until June 1, 2010.
FTC delays identity theft Red Flags Rule enforcement until June 1,2010
The FTC said members of Congress asked the agency to extend the deadline for the financial institutions and creditors it oversees. The extension by the FTC doesn’t affect other regulatory agencies which enforce the current identity theft Red Flags Rule.
There is pending legislation which proposes exemption from the identity theft Red Flags Rule for health care, accounting firms, legal firms with twenty of less employees (H.R. 3763).
